FIRST IMPRESSIONS

From the moment I stepped inside, The Gantry felt modern, confident and distinctly East London. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the skyline beautifully, filling the room with natural light, while warm textures and soft tones balance the contemporary design. It feels polished but not clinical elevated, intentional and genuinely comfortable.

The Room: Modern Luxury with East London Edge

The rooms at The Gantry strike that rare balance between modern luxury and lived-in comfort. From the moment you step inside, the floor-to-ceiling, penthouse-style windows immediately draw your eye outward, flooding the space with natural light and framing expansive skyline views that make the room feel even larger than it already is. There’s a strong sense of openness,  spacious without feeling empty, polished without feeling cold.

The design leans into contemporary luxury but with its own distinct twist. Clean architectural lines are softened by warm tones, layered textures, and carefully chosen finishes that give the room character rather than just trend appeal. It feels intentional,  like every corner has been considered. The living area flows naturally into a subtle dining space, making it ideal not just for sleeping, but for genuinely spending time in. Whether you’re ordering room service, working remotely, or unwinding with a drink, the layout supports it.

The bedroom itself is generously sized, anchored by a bed that genuinely delivers on comfort. The mattress is supportive yet plush, layered with crisp linens that make it easy to sink in and switch off. It’s the kind of bed that guarantees a good night’s sleep quiet, cocooned, and restful despite being in the city. Full-length mirrors add to the sense of space and light, while also giving the room a slightly elevated, hotel-suite feel.

The bathrooms continue the modern-luxury theme but feel brighter and more expansive. Clean finishes, sleek fixtures, and a spacious layout give it that refined, almost spa-like atmosphere. It feels luxurious without being overdone,  functional, stylish, and thoughtfully designed for comfort.

Overall, the rooms feel elevated and contemporary, with enough space to breathe. It’s luxury that feels practical,  ideal for city stays where you want comfort, views, and a space that feels as good as it looks.

Rooftop Dining: STK Above the City

The Gantry London, Curio Collection by Hilton
you’ll find something that completely shifts the mood of the stay.

STK Rooftop Stratford isn’t just a restaurant,  it’s a statement. Elevated above Stratford, the space blends polished interiors with an open-air terrace that captures sweeping East London views, especially striking at golden hour.

Inside, the atmosphere feels intentional: dim lighting, sleek finishes, curated music and a steady hum of conversation that feels lively but never chaotic. It’s the kind of place where dinner effortlessly turns into drinks, and drinks turn into an evening you didn’t plan but won’t forget.

Step outside and the rooftop terrace shifts the energy again. Skyline views, warm lighting and that subtle London buzz below you create a setting that feels both exclusive and social. It’s refined but not rigid  glamorous without trying too hard.

The menu leans bold and indulgent, designed for sharing, celebrating and lingering. Whether you’re staying at the hotel or simply visiting for the evening, STK gives the Gantry an edge  transforming it from a stylish city stay into a full lifestyle experience.

It’s not just convenient rooftop dining.
It’s atmosphere.
It’s elevation.
It’s the reason you’d book again.

CROWD

The Gantry attracts a stylish, social mix. You’ll notice a strong presence of young professionals and couples in their mid-20s to mid-30s, alongside groups of friends celebrating, dining and making a night of it at STK.

That said, it’s not exclusively youthful,  there’s a refined mix of 40+ guests who appreciate the modern setting, skyline views and elevated atmosphere. It’s lively without feeling chaotic, social without feeling overwhelming.

It’s the kind of place people come to enjoy themselves  whether that’s date night, a birthday weekend, or simply good food with good company.

WHERE TO NEXT TIPS

If you’re booking, request a higher floor for a quieter stay and better city views , it makes a noticeable difference in the overall atmosphere. If your budget allows, upgrade to a suite. That’s where The Standard Brussels truly shines, with added space, a dedicated lounge area, and a more immersive experience overall.

In the evenings, spend time downstairs before heading out  the bar sets the tone perfectly. And if you’re unsure what to order, ask the bartenders for their recommendations. They know their craft and will guide you well.

For something more elevated, reserve the top-floor restaurant in advance, especially on weekends or special occasions. It’s not just dinner;  it’s part of the experience.
